Iced Coffee

The story of “Iced Coffee” started when I came across a TikTok video of pix!e covering Denise Julia’s “NVMD.”

What stood out to me immediately was their vocals. It wasn’t a polished studio recording or anything heavily processed — just a simple TikTok performance. They could sing, they had personality, and they already felt comfortable performing.

Around that time, I was working on an untitled track — a bright, bubblegum-inspired dance-pop song — and after seeing that cover, I thought it could fit them well. I sent the demo to DreamCloud, and surprisingly, they liked it.

Then nothing really happened. Communication stopped, and I assumed they had gone in a different direction. That’s pretty normal in music — songs get pitched all the time, and not everything moves forward.

About a year later, we got in touch again. DreamCloud was preparing pix!e’s debut, and the song was still in consideration. From there we started developing the track properly — multiple revisions, discussions, and adjustments before everything finally came together. It became “Iced Coffee.”

What I find interesting is that the whole project started from a random TikTok video. I saw a group with a lot of potential, happened to be working on a song that matched their energy, sent the demo, and a year later it ended up as part of their debut. Music projects rarely follow a straight path, and “Iced Coffee” was no exception.

pix!e have a genuinely talented group of members, and it was great seeing the song finally find its home with them. If you haven’t heard “Iced Coffee” yet, give it a listen — and keep an eye on pix!e as they continue to grow.

Sonically it’s bright, bubblegum dance-pop — built to show the group off. I co-wrote it, produced it, and delivered the mix and master to Viva Records, shaping the arrangement and the vocal sound around the thing that grabbed me in that first cover: those voices.
