Background

“Prinsesa” started life as a Pop Girls song. RAYA wanted a fresh flip of it — a groovier reimagining built specifically for their live performances.

RAYA are a nine-member Filipino P-pop girl group under Viva Artists Agency, dubbed the “Gems of P-Pop.” Their name comes from the Filipino word hiraya — hopes, dreams and aspirations — and they debuted in 2025 with the single “Bling.” This live rework of “Prinsesa” was built for their stage sets.

The goal was to keep everything people already love about the track, but give it new movement and energy on stage. So the topline and identity of “Prinsesa” stay familiar, while everything underneath it — the groove, the drums, the pacing — was rebuilt to carry a live performance.

Production

I reworked it into a blend of Jersey club, pop and dance — a groovier low-end and a rhythm that hits harder live — then arranged, mixed and mastered the performance version for RAYA’s showcases.

The Jersey club bounce gave the beat a more physical pulse for the group to move to, while the pop core kept the melody and hook intact so the crowd could still sing along. I shaped the arrangement around the peaks of a live set — room for the energy to lift and drop with the choreography — and mixed it to punch through a stage system rather than a pair of headphones.
