Mismo

When “Mismo” reached me, the song was already there. A-ON had written it themselves — the melody, the idea, all of it. What they wanted was to make it feel more like them — to take what they’d built and shape it into a record that truly sounded like A-ON.

Working with them was honestly one of my favourites. This is a group that knows exactly what it wants — incredibly detailed with their feedback, down to the smallest moment — and somehow still some of the kindest, most talented people to share a room with. Special thanks to the boys of A-ON and to Sir Matt for trusting me with this one.

I leaned the production into bright, modern dance-pop — upbeat, a little bubblegum, with a lit, club-leaning edge — built to put the group’s energy and vocals right at the front. From there it was arrangement, vocal production, and the final mix and master to carry it across the line.
